Table Dialogues
is a long-term project by visual theater artists Robbert&Frank Frank&Robbert. It is a collective name for several immersive performances in which dialogue, a sense of wonder and playfulness are central.
Unique to Table Dialogues is the effective mix of wonderful digital experiences (Virtual Reality, immersive audio) with intimate analog elements (sharing memories, walking together, drinking tea, giving presents, making fire, drawing, etc.).
Each experience is named after a natural element and is loosely inspired by Taoist teachings. Connection is the common thread.
Together, the Table Dialogues performances form a cycle that takes you through a playful, hallucinatory, philosophical and personal journey. Let your curiosity run wild and step into the world of Robbert&Frank!

Every creative process of Robbert&Frank takes root in unraveling (invisible) connections/patterns. Together they search for what lies hidden in the fertile soil of the everyday. By digging into themselves and exploring how they can stand in the world, they discover unexpected connections, fruits and joys. This is accompanied by moments of intense wonder, confusion, frustration, emotion and excitement.
Wood is a project in which Robbert&Frank want to share this collective, creative discovery process with the public. They do this by immersing you in a strange world in which nothing is what it seems. Using virtual reality, you experience with your entire body what it is like to let go of everything you know. Open the doors of perception and let yourself be guided by your intuition and curiosity.
Who or what am I in this new reality? What is the purpose? Why am I here? The answer to these questions will only reveal itself when you dare to take the first step yourself — literally. Because only by physically moving will you discover what is possible and what is not in this reality.
Luckily, you are not alone. You share the space with other people. Everyone is lost and wandering around like little fireflies in the darkness.
In this multiplayer VR installation, participants play together to amaze, confuse and delight each other. Inspired by the randomness of play and the abstract joy of colour perception and pattern recognition, this immersive theatre piece is a radical exploration of physical experience theatre.
